It’s the season once again. Nope, sorry Christmas. It’s not YET you that we’re talking about here.
Gilas season is upon us. Woops, BUT—not so fast.
Miss Universe season is also upon us. And it’s getting weirder each day to see hashtags “Philippines” and “Miss Universe” in every tweet we encounter over the streets of Twitter.
Minsan, nakakawindang din. Like this convo:
At eto pa:
At marami pa dyan, magugulat at mamangha nalang kayo sa diskarte nating mga Pinoy! 😎
We're the best fans in the world, sabi nga. Hindi lang sa basketball. Pang beauty pageants pa, ohyeah! Ta's nagkataon on the same day both national pastimes are going to take place. Now isn’t everybody happy on the 27th of this month, noh? It’s like basketball ang beauty pageant fans are getting their 13th and 14th month pays all at the same time on the same day!
In connection with this: Hindi pa ba nag-a-announce ang PCOO ng #WalangPasok sa Monday, November 27? Or ang Malacanang? Ang PNP? We know that the chief is a huge basketball fan. Perhaps Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque is also a major major fan, right? 😛
Now they should do something to make November 27 a national day of—? Well, how do we even call this day of fandom?
President Duterte declared a National Day of Protest not too long ago. Eh wala namang yatang kwenta yung Day of Protest daw—nagmukmok lang ang mga bata sa bahay, wala pang baon! 😂
Now this one is something even better. Relevant. Patriotic. Educational. And above all, RECREATIONAL!
But how to call it? National Day of Pastime?
Or why not “National Day of Gilas Meets Universe?” Bonga! 😂
Now before that, let’s get this win on the 24th of November, at 6PM, Manila time. And in case you missed it, here’s the wala-nang-mas-lulupet pa na Gilas 12 lineup ng mga lodi for this #FIBAWC Qualifiers November window:
Here's our 12-player lineup for both Japan and Chinese Taipei games. |
So once again, sama-sama para sa bayan let’s celebrate these days of cheering for our country. 😍
